Ive always and will always love the Egyptians above any other, but Ive always had an interest in Greek and Roman Mythology. And lately (for some miscellaneous reason) Ive been really into the Medieval times.

Grr! Why can't you cast multiple votes?! And why didn't you include Tudor history? Or pre-1066 England? I love Pre-Norman England, Tudor England and the Ancient Near East. I also read Classical Literature and have studied Roman Law and (some) Modern Law.

Tudor England is one of my other passions beside Egypt, and although I would say that I have not really studied many other periods of history in great detail, I do enjoy history in general, particularly the aformentioned periods. I can have a conversation about most eras of British History, to say the least.

What about yourself, Si-Amun?

I'm like the biggest history geek ever. I can't narrow down my historical interests because almost all of history is interesting to me...except for US History. It's too recent for my taste...lol :D Plus I've had a grudge against the Puritans ever since outlining chapter 3 of The Enduring Vision. 38 pages of how they built their stupid freaking farmhouses!! *twitchtwitchtwitch*

My personal passion will always be Egypt but s far as history goes I detest modern history unless it is situated around a person. If I want to look into something more modern it is always more on a biographical line than a general historical one. I have done a lot of reading on peronist agentina (based on biographical interest in Eva Peron). I do love the Ancient Greek myths too, but not that interested in their history to be quite honest. I do like Roman history as well but ever so often that swings to a biographical side too, you HAVE to love the Roman emporers for a good biogaphy, they are an interesting bunch! At the moment I am reading a great biography on Swaminarayan, who was an Indian Swami who was woshppd as an incarnation of God between 1800 and his death about 20 yeas later. That is probably the most interesting biography I have ever read. I am a HUGE fan of studying religous history though, I like the Christian Church from about 1200 onwards, that is a fascinating topic but for the last few months I have been really getting into Hindu history and beleif, now that is interesting. Another interesting thing is the similarities between Ancient Egypian belief and he ancient Hindu beliefs of roughly the same time and later, they are almost identicale and even now a lot of similarities can b drawn between the two. Manetho himself describes a group of Hindu immigrants to Egypt who supposedly settled around 1400 BC and he placs their arrival as a large and significant event. Many Roman historians too noted the similarites between the ways of belief within the two cultures, leading many to conclude that they sprung from the same source. I will always be more of a philosopher though when it comes to things like that, my two passions are histor and philosophy of religion so any time where the two come together is where my passion lies.

- Inquisitorial Europe
- Ptolomaic Egypt
- Early Vedic India
- Nazi Germany (Holocaust)
- Early Roman Empire
- Spread of Christianity
- Witch Trials of Matthew Hopkins and others
- Platonic Greece

They are my main interest areas where religous upheaval and history combine, I do have interests in a lot of individuals or in very small parts of histry, such as:

- Eva Peron
- Lord Swaminarayan
- The Wannsee Conference
- Jacqueline du Pre (BIG IMPORTANT ONE, read about her!)
- The Medici (Psusuennes can abck me up on this one!)

Hope that gives you some idea of the areas of interest I have! I know thy are pretty well spread (from the holocaust to Vedic India!) but they are incredibly interesting periods of history.

Aside from Æ, I have always been fascinated by the Arthurian legends in midievel England, and old Norse mythology. Greek mythology is... meh. The most I ever got into it was seeing a few episodes of Hercules (starring Kevin Sorbo!)... oh, and I guess being into Astronomy and studying Plato, Socrates, and the likes ..might count. Not really.

By the by, Excalibur is by far the best movie on the Arthurian legend by far! My second favorite movie of all time (aside from What About Bob?)!

Not true. I have a computer because my mom uses it for her job. She's an industrial engineer (PHD) who wrote her dissertation on this computer. In case you didn't know, engineers (not the train kind) need the internet and such for research and publication if they aren't in the business area. So...yeah. Anyway. TOPIC.

Oh, I almost forgot !

Aztecs, I've been fascinated with well... the land around. I don't care about Aztecs, but I'd love to visit the rainforest some day!

Druids, wicca, etc. are a crazy bunch, but they make for great conversation topics. I've always loved the concept of being one with nature and dancing around a fire in the middle of a forest, naked with blood and dirt smeared on your body, whilst you conjure up the spirit of an oak tree.. or something. It's stupid, I know, but I respect them grately for their beliefs.

I've never been into the Asian cultures because there are too many Ronan warriors running around, quoting Lao Tzu and believing they can unleash their energy through cosmic waves of ... .. well, I'm not sure what. Oddly enough, I'm a Heathengelical Buddhist. Hypocritical? ..Yes.

Indian culture, and the crap around the country is interesting, as well. Brahma, avatars, Shiva, etc.

Though nothing can ever trump my love for Æ (funny, I love it so much, I don't care enough to spell it out)!
