Hi,
I came accross a vidio on Internet that says the following has been stated in (some of) Egyptian ancient scripts or monuments:

1) Horus was "born" on december 25th.
Was this written in some ancient Egyptian text?

2) Horus was born of the virgin Isis. Was that written somewhere?

3) His birth was accompanied by the East star, which was followed by three kings to find him as savior. Was that written somewhere?

4)Was Horus a teacher at the age of 12?

5) Did Horus have 12 disciples?

6) Did Horus performed the miricles like walking over water and healing the sick people at least somewhere in ancient scripts?

7) Was Horus also known (among other names) under the name: the lamb of God?

8) And finally, was he crusified and resurrected after 3 days or not?

Actually I am asking this: was some of the above WRITTEN somewhere in Egypt ancient texts or not?

Thanks a lot if you have some precise info!

Hi , i am not shure for the others , but i can say that from the mith for Osiris:
Horus was a child of Osiris and Isis indeed , but the whay that he was made, although that there is a magic too, is typical for making little new people :) i mean Isis probably wasn't virgin in egyptian mythology.
However im shure, that there is a strong relationship between ancient egyptian religion and all religions coming from Moses, if that is what are you after.
I can not absten my self , so exuse my stupid advise , but ... forget the tv , movies and so on , information there is aways represent only in one point of view , the problems very reary are observed from all sides , therefor most of the TV productions are not good approach for learning something.
You can understand best, what are you asking for here:

According to some accounts Osiris was murgered and cut up then Isis reassembled him apart from his penis which was eaten by a fish. She managed to renimate him long enough to get pregnant (how, after the fish?) but as Horus said presumably before the murder they were a normal married couple.

I've also heard that Horus was born on December 25th, but it was said during my high school religion lessons, so not from egyptological source (although the teacher - or rather priest - was really well educated). And I don't remember the myths so good to be sure myself :?

Ancient Egyptians celebrated the birth of Horus on Dec. 21.
Although we celebrate the birth of Jesus on Dec. 25, His actual birth date is unknown, but more than likely it was sometime in the Spring. (the birth of lambs)

Presumably with the calendar problems caused by the incorrect year length they did celebrate it on December 25th - what would they have called the date of his birth - obviously not December.

Comparing Jesus and Horus is, in my opinion, like comparing apples and oranges! I'm sure, if you search long and hard enough, there will be some out-standing similarities But to compare the two? Jesus was a living, breathing person. (There is still much discussion on this, BTW) Horus was a mythical god.

There is the outside chance the myths were based on real, historical happenings - unlikely but Homer provided enough astronomical data to date Odysseuses return to with a few hours.
