If the pyramids were built by an advanced civilization why did they use corbelling to roof chambers?

Personally, I think that the aliens theory is condescending and colonialist. They were built by the Ancient Egyptians. Ancient Egypt was a complex culture and we may never know all the secrets of it. But people, stop thinking that aliens built the pyramids. There's evidence that the Egyptians did (example: what else could have made the "breaks" --for lack of a better word-- in their vertebrae than the multiple tons of limestone bricks? There's nothing that immediately pops into my mind other than the obvious pyramid limestone!).

It is indeed highly condescending. Such constructions just show what dedication to religion the Egyptian populace had. In a modern society without the same sense of purpose, such things are unachievable.

Ah, but you forget about the all-mighty dollar. Multi-million dollar companies are capable of wiping out rain forests like mad, so what's to say a simple pyramid couldn't be built? If thought was put into it, I have no doubt that they could create an assembly line of machines to create the blocks, and a conglomerate of trains to haul them to the site. As per the actual construction, mechanics win again!

Yes, but they would not turn out as well , simply because the human eye would view them as not. These were made over a long period of time with dedication , as Psuennes I said. A machine simply making them would take the wonderment out of them.

Yes, it would take the magic out of the pyramid, but the point I was trying to make was that not only could they still be made, but they could be constructed faster and more precise.

The great pyramids most probably were not tombs. Very little writing survives from that era but over and over they say that the pyramids were not tombs.

G1, the Great Pyramid, was probably built around 2750 BC (per C14 dating) but it's not clear that they were any sort of machine. Dunn makes a good case but there's not much evidence that they could have any more than one or two moving parts. It seems unliukely they were a pump with no known drain at the bottom.

It would be nice to see Egyptologists run the tests and make the measurements that would answer the questions of what they were and how they were built but it appears they are afraid of the answers.

I was just wondering how old people are that own and drive Passats in general. Im 27 myself and i havent seen anyone else that young driving them. Maybe because of the price of insurence?
