I don't know where you guys get all you information, but a whole lot of it is not true. First of all, it is correct that if the mother gets full custody, the father is asked to pay child support, but in most cases, not very much. You also have to look at the fact that a lot of these men don't bother paying the child support they are asked to pay. A friend of mine is owed $20,000 in child support because her ex hasn't given her a dime, in other cases, women are owed upwards of $50,000. In the case of child support, it is for the child's benefit, not the mother's. Also, unless there are very good reasons (such as molestation, beatings, etc) to keep the father away, most are given visitation rights. If the father is given full custody, at least in America, the mother DOES have to pay child support, just like anyone else would have to.
Housewives do not get everythig. If there are kids involved, she may be awarded the house, but it is very rare that she would be awarded everything in the house, much less any cars, assests, etc. As far as housewives cleaning a room or two, cooking and yapping on the phone, I strongly disagree! I am a stay at home mom/ housewife. I do this because my husband and I discussed it and we decided that at least until Kyra is in 5th grade, it would be better for me to stay at home. I did have a career when I got pregnant and would have enjoyed staying with it, but as a couple, we decided it would be better this way and believe me, it would have been a whole lot less work to keep working. I may be lucky that my Eric enjoys is mornings with Kyra as their alone time, so I can sleep in a bit, but when I wake up, I really have to work. Throughout the day, I am responsible for getting the entire house clean, which is large and has 2 very messy people in it. I have to cook which includes coming up with imaginative dishes since Eric is a chef and I can't exactly feed him hamburger helper, do the laundry, run errands, pay bills, keep the books, take Kyra to school, pick her up, run her to after school activities, deal with any outside chores, and I am sure there are other things I do that I am not remembering right now, plus do the things I am doing for myself, like studying and taking writing classes. Even after all this, I am not done. After dinner, I have to clean the kitchen, get Kyra bathed, read her a bedtime story, get her in bed, then, if I am lucky, I can relax for awhile. During the day, most people who work, get a break, I on the other hand, only get breaks to do things like rest or get on the computer when I sit down and smoke a cigarette, and even then it isn't much of a break because I am constantly bombarded with phone calls, Kyra and the pets.
Now tell me, does that sound so very easy?
PS Sorry if that sounded, well you know what women are called, but I get really angry when people think housewives do nothing.
