I'm 18, and I've been into Ancient Egypt since I first saw Tut in a Textbook in the 6th grade. I absolutely fell in love with Tut's myaterious story, and I loved his death mask. It drew me in. Since then, It's been on and off, but it didn't really sink in until my Junior year of High school, when I saw a show on Akhenaten on the Travel Channel, and found out THEN that he was Tut's dad. (Yes, folks, I STILL believe that!! ). His looks and rebellious and passionate mind really got to me. It inspired me.
Now, my TuT! comic is being published next summer, and the more I learn about Ancient Egypt, the more I'm intrigued and fascinated by it. Above all, my passion to learn about the Amarna period, Tut and Akhenaten, keeps me going. It makes me happy to study them in some small way, and my comic is a TRIBUTE to them both, for filling me with wonder and awe, and letting my imagination fill in the blanks with thier "incomplete" stories.
...But that's just me!! ^__^ I'm lovin' it...
