Sorry to start a new thread being a new guy BUT I need help with this place name Prstt = Transliteration of the hieroglyphics are first the “bird in flight” = p3, then the “mouth” sign = r, then the “door blot” = s, followed by the double “loaf” sign = tt. After this the throw stick (foreign country or person) and then for some reason (?) another t followed by the determinative for desert or foreign country. I know the archaeologist and scholars say that it is Persia or Palestine etc. And this name is found in different places with the possible meanings they give for it. BUT my concern is, is it possible to be translated another way and I need feed back. I see no reason it could not be two words as Pithom is “house of Atum” with the “of” being understood. SO, the hieroglyphics for pr = “going out”, and the stt = “Asiatics”. or “the going out of the Asiatics”, is this possible? I am not asking anyone to agree with my translation of Prstt but only asking if the hieroglyphics and Egyptian grammar permit this possible translation.
Help please!
