It's simply magical, concerning Hatshepsut's childhood!

It might be simple magical, bel. But it is a work of fiction. Ms. Gedge has written several books concerning ancient Egypt, and they are all very interesting and entertaining, but in no way should they be considered to be a basis for real history.
I don't believe there is much that has been written about Hapshepsut's childhood. We know that she was the child of a Pharaoh, married to a Pharaoh and became a Pharaoh herself, but I've never seen anything about her childhood, except what she had chisled into the walls of her temple--that Amen came to her mother, in the guise of the mothers earthly husband, impregnated the mother with the seed which would become Hapshepsut.

I realize there is nothing that has been written (as in record's of Hatshepsut's childhood). But the story is lovely and very close to the truth except it was alot more serious than the book colored the picture to be. That I do know! As a ruler you were not allowed to show emotion in the face of the public. It was not only the kingdom for which you were responsible; but the people as well. Even as a child it was serious business.
