Someone made an interesting commnent about Reincarnation. They stated that there are a billion people in the world claiming they were King Tut or Cleopatra. Show of hands, how many of you think you were Hatshepsut?

Probably I would have liked... That's because Hatshepsut is my favourite Pharaoh, 'til I read a book on her...

hmm interesting question XD But I don't think that I'd be a descendant or reincarnation of Hatshepsut... we have very different personalities; she was a real ruler, an energic and powerful queen (well at least I think she was XD) and I'm... well I'm not energic and powerful XD but I'd be surprised if someone'd tell me that I'm a bit 'Egyptian', but sadly, I don't think this will happen. :-(

Ahlan!!!

I think that all this about Reincarnation is not serious, and fits better in an esoterical forum rather than in an egyptological one. I love Egypt, and because of that I have a lot of respect for the Ancient Egyptian culture. I don't want to involve it, as many people do, with esoterical things like curses and those kind of things.

Kisses,

EVIE

Evie - Egyptian curses may be esoteric, but they certainly formed a large and real part of the Egyptian funerary process. The tomb of the Elders of Meni at Giza, cut out in the 6th Dynasty is inscribed with a particularly famous curse, which I recently translated as part of an exercise in hieroglyphs. It reads:

"May the crocodile be against him in the water, and may the snake be against him on land, any man who would do harm against this [place]. Never have I trespassed against him - It is God who will judge him."

Psusennes I: I did know that Egyptian courses existist, because in my Egyptian lessons I have translated some of them (they usually start with ir + verb), but they only appear in a 5% of the tombs, as my teacher said. For example, the famous course of Tut's tomb is a fake, made off by Arthur Conan Doyle because of the concession of the rights of publication to The Times.

The problem is that these things, which weren't as usual as we think in Ancient Egypt, have become symbols of this culture, and are closer to people than the real facts.

Kisses,

EVIE

P.S: I saw your funerary mask  (Psusennes I) in Madrid a month ago, in the FaraĆ³n exhibition.
